Mine Brook Search & Rescue, Inc. - an IRS 501(c)3 registered charity, was founded by David Jacobs Kotz, a volunteer Firefighter/EMT, experienced Coast Guard small boat coxswain and serial entrepreneur, in 2005 to provide emergency services that would complement the existing excellent local Fire and EMS departments in our area. Originally we focused on water rescue and that remains our core strength today. However, we continue to add more capability as funding and trained people permit. In the beginning, we used our CPR Training Center to generate revenue to support our Emergency Response functions. Now, our training center is one of the busiest in the state, conducting as many as 8 CPR classes per day! Adventure Travel is our most recent addition and we are very excited that this division will be as successful as the Training Center.

Our Training Center teaches a wide variety of First Aid / CPR and safety courses and is an American Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Health & Safety Institute authorized provider. We have delivered courses throughout the NJ / NYC area. Our clients include, Sports Teams, Fire Departments, Municipalities, Ambulance Squads, Doctor’s Offices, Construction firms, Schools, Nurses and many more.

.: Adventure Travel
Our goal with our newest enterprise is to provide a preplanned, escorted, adventure oriented travel opportunity 2 – 4 times per year. We have collective experience with exotic travel in the US and Central America. Many of our members are SCUBA certified, several are Divemasters. Previous trips have been to Front Sight in Las Vegas for Tactical Handgun Training and to Costa Rica for off shore fishing. If there are other adventures you want to take, please let us know and we will use our expertise to help bring it to life!
