Congratulations to Mike, Cody, Sam, Lisa and Dave for completing the 4 day tactical pistol course at Front Sight Firearms Training Academy last week. SPECIAL Congratulations to Ryan for Graduating from the program (less than 5% graduate!). The whole group had a blast (pun intended!) and are anxious to return again!!

Big Travel Day

Yesterday we traveled to NH for an 0800 CPR/First Aid class at TI in Manchester NH for 31 people. Followed by 300 miles of driving (no traffic until we were 10 miles from home!) to NJ and a 30 person BLS renewal for our local Fire Department! Phew – long day!!!!

Cement Truck Overturns in front of Mine Brook Search & Rescue, Inc.

Yesterday, a cement truck overturned on US 202 and Whitenack Road in Bernardsville – right in front of our HQ. There were several injuries – 2 patients were flown by helicopter to the local trauma center. US 202 was closed from 10am, when the accident happened until about 5pm. Dave Kotz, Founder & President of Mine Brook SAR was the first Firefighter/ EMT on the scene – it was 200 yards from his office! He radioed an update to the responding fire / EMS companies after an assessment of the scene. Our truck – 80-161 was used to move Paramedics and equipment from the LZ back to the scene.

We are looking for CPR Instructors in the following areas: Long Island, NY; New York City, Pittsburg, PA, Philly, PA; Delaware; Boston MA; RI; CT; Western Mass; VT; NH and Maine.

We pay a flat rate per class that is very attractive. We schedule the courses, handle all the arrangements and paperwork. You need only show up and teach!

2011 Instructor of the Year

We are pleased to announce the 2011 Instructor of the Year – Mr. Peter Ivan!!!! Peter traveled from Maine to Pittsburg from his home base of NYC to teach over 75 courses for us this year. He was always on time and kept in excellent touch with us throughout the process. For all his efforts, we have Peter (a US Army combat medic) a personal lifetime membership to Front Sight Firearms Training Institute.

This boat is ideal for both floods and swift water. It has a 40 hp jet engine and a very limited draft – i.e. it can operate in as little as 12″ of water. Generally it is served with a crew of 2, and has a survivor capacity of 5.

Can Do – 20’ RHIB

The Can Do is named after a famious Gloucester Mass Pilot boat. She is 20 foot long, draws 20″ and can operate off shore in waves that excede 5 feet. She is crewed by 2 or 3 and has a total capacity of 12. Can Do has a 90 hp Yamaha engine. This boat has been used extensivley for offshore swimming races and triathlons.

80-151 GMC Rescue Truck

This truck carries a large assortment of water rescue equipment, an extensive rope rescue invintory and rehab equipment – including hot chocolate for 40! Special equipment: 2 Stokes Litters – one with an off road wheel for moving victims from remote locations to safety. 80-151 also has a built in generator with 2 100′ cord reels.
