David Jacobs Kotz
Founder, President, Chief
EMT / Firefighter / Coxswain / Divemaster

Mr. Kotz began his emergency services as many do training as a lifeguard in his early teens.  He joined the local fire department during his sophomore year in high school as a Junior member and took the training to serve on the Ambulance (Red Cross Advanced First Aid and Emergency Care plus “5 points”, Extracation, Childbirth, Mass Casulity …..) – this was prior to the existence of the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program in NJ.  As Mr. Kotz continued his education, he stayed involved with emergency services, serving on his college rescue squad as an EMT-Intermediate and taking the course to become a firefighter at the same time.  In his senior year in High School, he also joined the volunteer arm of the US Coast Guard.  After considerable training throughout the northeast, Mr. Kotz became one of the youngest people to be awarded the Coxswain pin.  He went further and was again the youngest person to become a “Qualification Examiner” – or the person who conducts the final exam for others wanting to become boat crew and Coxswain qualified.

While in college, Mr. Kotz also began teaching CPR as a corporate instructor for the American Red Cross.  He taught every course offered – from CPR and Standard First Aid to Lifeguarding, AIDS Education and even Babysitting as both an Instructor and later as an Instructor Trainer.  It turned out that this helped pay some of his college expenses.

Mr. Kotz, has been recognized with several awards: Team Commidation Award etc.  Firefighter of the year.  Additionally he has made several appearances on National TV as a spokes person for the USCG, including the Today Show, Fox and Friends and Fox News.
