Mike Lydon, Instructor

Mike’s interest in the medical field began at an early age, reading flash cards to his mother to help her study for her nursing exams.  He kept up this interest in boy scouts, eventually becoming an Eagle Scout.  In 2006, Mike joined the Army.  A year later, he deployed to Iraq where he witnessed firsthand the effects that good medicine can have in saving somebody’s life.  This lead him to change careers, and in 2010, Mike transitioned out of the active duty Army into the New Jersey National Guard to be a medic.  Three weeks out of medic school, Mike was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his medical work at his unit’s Annual Training.

Mike is a busy man, he teaches the Combat Lifesaver Course both as a part of his military duties and as a civilian contractor.  But mostly, he’s a full-time biology student, studying his ass off trying to get into medical school!
